Fly-Ridden Godforsaken Desert Border Station
Sunday, January 23rd, 2005In order to kill and hour or so, I sat down to read my health manual (yes, I’m a little bored.) In the section on mental health, there’s a quote from an American travel writer, Stuart Stevens, who says, “If one were looking to shoot a film at a location that epitomized a bedraggled, fly-ridden godforsaken desert border station, Bol would do nicely!” Ha ha. Yes, there are a lot of flies, but there’s also beautiful trees, blue skies, and hospitable, friendly people. Maybe they just didn’t stay long enough to meet them.
