Calmez-vous
Tuesday, February 07th, 2006It has come to my attention that several of you have expressed concern for the well being of my skin, after the tragic loss of my first umbrella, may it rest in pieces. But calmez-vous, I went out and bought a new umbrella the next day from one of the arab commercants. The arab guys’ boutiques are as close as one gets to Wal-Mart around here. Every time I’ve searched and searched for something (safety pins, colored pencils, rat poison) I’ve finally found it at our arab guy’s boutique. These boutiques are generally shanties made out of tin and scrap wood, so they’re really not Wal-Martesque, and the customer service really isn’t up to par (though the commercant who sold me the rat poison very vehemently warned me not to eat it – “ma tacul, ma tacul!”) but when it comes to selection, the Arab guys can’t be beat.
